I'm wondering if this is a 17+ option or a Sierra option because I don't have it but my friend with a brand new Sierra does and when I searched for it in Silverado I didn't get any results.

 

By the way what is it that determines red gauges vs green? I used to think red was for the Sierra but I have seen Sierra's with green gauges and then thought maybe it was for 6.2 V8 models but then saw a 6.2 Silverado with green gauges... I personally like the red better.

GMC used to have the red backlight but for '17 or '18 models they went to blue like Chevy. And for the speed limit you need factory NAV to have that screen.

In order to activate the 'speed limit' on the digital speedo display of my 2017 Silverado, you press the right arrow on the steering wheel and check the speed limit box. I have factory NAV.

I did not know this until this thread was started.

 

You need to activate this from the digital speedometer screen and not the speed limit sign screen.

So when in the digital speedo screen, right arrow and check the box that says "speed sign".

 

This will display both.

Just traded my ‘15 in for an ‘18 and it’s got the current speed as well as the speed limit on the same screen. My ‘15 had them on separate screens. I prefer them combined like the new truck but I would much rather have the red color theme throughout instead of the blue.
