Question about the DIC screen.

I the first picture it shows how my digital speedometer looks on my 2016 GMC. In the second picture it shows the digital speedometer with the posted speed sign in the same screen. Is this a setting to make it show both or is it updated software in the 17 model trucks? If it is updated software can we 2016 guys have our software updated?

I think the second display is when you have a system with built in nav. It has a database of speed limits.

I have Nav but don't pay for Onstar...I saw this on a '17 loaner and liked it. On my '16, I do have a dedicated DIC screen that shows the speed limit - pretty accurately too. I just guessed it was a software update I didn't have.

The 16 speed limit screen only shows the limit, not your current

The enable and disable are in the settings menu.

You can elect not to show the speed limit. While in that screen hit the right arrow on the steering wheel control thingy.

My 2017 LTZ shows the limit along with the current speed I'm traveling.

 

I'm 99% sure theres a way to turn off the limits. I think it's in the option panel on the "right."

My LTZ shows both current speed and speed limit sign with info if available. It came that way so either a default setting or just the way it is. I have no reason to change so have not investigated how.

This was correct. I checked on my 2017 Sierra I can enable/disable the speed limit option in the menu to the right.

Checked yesterday, on the speed screen you can select to have the limit shown as well.
