Leveling question.

Let me start by saying that I am not one that modifies my trucks at all. With that being said seeing the "leveling" of the sierras really changes the look drastically. What this requires and costs I have no idea. I am thinking 1 1/2 inch or 2 inches at the most will be sufficient.

Can anyone guide me regarding the above

Thanks.

This is something I've also considered with my newly purchased Chevy.

Billstein 5100 shocks will do the job, get the right height adjustable for the fronts

Will just changing the shocks get you 1-2" of height? How does changing to these shocks and/or adding a leveling kit affect the ride?

I have a 2" Zone levelling kit on my truck; dealership installed it. Had it on my truck almost since getting it new. I love it. 2" made a big improvement (IMO) on the look of the truck and allowed me to get some bigger wheels/tires on it. I didn't notice a ride quality difference after. I think you run into more of that on actual lifts.

I think it rides better, opinions will vary. It raised the front 1.86 inches on my 17

Can you post pictures of your ride with the new shocks?

Will a leveling kit of only 2" cause a big difference in drivetrain angles? I really like the look but also want to make my new Silverado last as long as possible. My last truck I had for 8 years, I'd like to have this one just the same or longer.

Opinions will vary, but I think most people would say 2" is fine; 2.5"+ may cause even more strain. You're putting an aftermarket 2" lift on the front of your truck that was built without it, so ya, there's a little extra strain, but many members on this forum have not had an issue.

No bought them on Amazon for $400 and had them installed and an alignment done at my local Goodyear tire shop for an additional $450

Fox 2.0 coilovers give 1.5" up front. This would leave you with around 1.5" of rake still.

Cost around ~ $700, but actually give you a suspension upgrade.
