Ok, so I'm not sure if I'm getting the ill fated compressor issue. I have a 17 sierra slt crew. Yesterday my ac was working fine. This morning was a little cooler, so it was off and I had the temp at 70 and set to defrost. I auto started the truck from my fob while walking across the parking lot leaving work, and the starter caught, but the engine didn't start. So I got in and started it up. I immediately turned the temp down to 65 and hit the ac button and the console vents. It stayed warm! So I sat, turned the ac down to 62, and it felt "cool". So I sat some more and turned the ac all the way down to low. It got almost cold, enough to feel like it should've been set at 65. I was there sitting for about 6-8 minutes until I left. I stopped at a store to run in and grab an ice coffee and shut the truck off. Walking out started it with the fob, and had the same experience with the ac. While driving home (@ a 12 minute drive) I tried setting the ac on auto. When I turn on auto nothing works. The system stays on, but doesn't blow any air or set to any vents, no matter what temp the system is set at. So I have to manually turn on the regular ac and set it to low to get any real cooling of the cab. And it's not too hot today, 78-80 outside. Anyone have any similar experiences? I will be taking it to the dealer if it doesn't reset or something, I only have @ 4800 miles and have had the truck for 9 months...

Mackdriver,

Unfortunately I'm guessing tomorrow or within a few days you'll have zero AC. That's what happened to me.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the way my week is going I suppose...but I guess I'll be finding out over the next few days

Well, on the plus side, at least you are still under warranty, many of us are not. Second, at least it's not smoking hot where you are at. Third, it sounds like they are catching up on the condensor backorder and instead of being out a month, it's down to a week based on others post. Last its not the compressor that is causing all the problems, but the condensor. Good luck.

Thanks. It's weird, the ac worked fine today. And auto setting works again. Maybe a computer glitch with the climate control yesterday? It got warmer today..up to 86 or so out. Auto started the truck and the ac was blowing cold when I put my key in. Turned on the ac when I put the key in and set the auto at 65 and sat bullshitting outside the truck with another guy after work and it was working fine. Quirky trucks...

I had my condensor done under warranty. I had same symptoms as you for over two weeks. Got better and worse very dependent on outside temp and demand. Then it went totally warm. It was slow leak in condenser.
