Engine Shutoff at Low Speed

Hello.

 

I own a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. Just a few days ago, I disconnected and removed my battery in order to access my washer fluid reservoir, so that I could replace it. After a successful installation of the reservoir, I reconnected my battery (positive, then negative) and expected my truck to function just like it had before. However, it is not so. THREE PROBLEMS have shown up since that project that were not there before.

 

- My power steering seems to function poorly when turning right, but functions fine when turning left. I have no idea how this can happen and would appreciate insight.

- I get a LOW COOLANT message on my gauge cluster every so often just after I start my truck.

- Most importantly, my truck engine shuts off at low speeds. Not right after I crank it on, but when I start driving. Does it in both DRIVE and REVERSE. I owned a 1998 Corvette and it would stall like this due to an anti-theft system. But I don't know why it does it on my truck now.

 

Any advice about any of these problems will be very appreciated. I'm assuming they may all be somehow connected since they all showed up after my changing of the washer reservoir.

Have you tried disconnect and reconnect batt cables? Check battery cables to make sure they aren't failing internally.

I've heard that you have to turn the key to the on position (engine off) for 1 minute after disconnecting/connecting a battery. Then start the truck. Not sure if it really needs to be done or not, but I read it somewhere and I've always done it
