Leveled and rear air bags?

Thanks guys! Dcarl, I'd be really interested in an update when you get the new bags in. Specifically how it rides with just a bit of air in and unloaded. Good luck with the install.

I got my bags installed. The installation is pretty straight forward, and with the bags deflated, the ride is as expected. I also have the Smart Air II compressor system which I had some problems with but Air Lift sent me a new Electronic Height Sensor and that solved the hardware issue. The other problem is that there are two different sets of instructions on the website for the kit with no explanation of the difference. I chased my tail for several hours with an ohm meter on the wiring harness because it wasn't matching the instructions. Turned out I was using the wrong instructions....

Now everything works like it should, and you can add air via a valve.

I have the air lift 5000 ultimates also. I had the ride control bags previously on this truck. Definitely prefer the 5000s. A couple weeks ago I installed their wireless compressor system and its definitely worth the investment. Very easy install and can air bags up on the go. Also have 3 memory presets.

I don't know why, but the short few days I had the 5000 Ultimates in mine it felt like I was slapping the internal bumpers on small bumps that the normal suspension would soak up. I have the Bilstein 5100 shocks instead of the Ranchos which smoothed out the ride quite a bit. As soon as I took the bags out, the truck road fine again. I now have the Ride Control in and they seem fine. I tow a 27' Pontoon and a 16' Enclosed Cargo Trailer that might weigh in around 5-6k loaded up with bikes and equipment.

Weird. You don't have the rear of the yours lowered do you?

Even with 5-10 lbs of air in mine it seems smooth.

No. It's level with a 1.5" Body Lift. I kept the bags in case I decide to try them again later...

I have the wires set up on my 2017 but I haven't installed the compressor yet, I'm still trying to figure out the location and how to run the wires and air lines to the control inside. Any suggestions?

I have a 2017 Sierra SLE Elevation with the 5.3 engine and without the Max Tow package and have a 2 inch front level kit.

I installed Ait Lift 5000 air bags and leave them at 5 psi without a load. If I'm hauling heavy stuff in the bed or hauling my boat I inflate them accordingly to bring the rear level. With the bags at 5 psi I don't notice any extra harshness in the ride.

I have a valve to inflate each side separately. I have them hidden behind the gass fill door.

I have a 2017 GMC Sierra SLE with the Air Lift 5000 air bags. Unloaded I have them at around 5 psi and it doesn't ride any harsher than stock.

I have a fill vale for each side that I fill accordingly depending of my load. I have the fill valves hidden behind the gas fill door.
