Dash Cam/Windshield Question

So last year I had a new windshield installed due to a rock hitting my windshield. I have a dash camera on my windshield and although I removed that, I left the 12V cord running above the windshield, tucked under the front of the headliner. I thought this would be a non-issue. Today, I see it was an issue. The black epoxy stuff they put around the windshield has essentially glued the cable in place in a spot or two. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? I gave it a decent tug but it didn't seem to budge and don't want to do any damage. I also would rather not remove the headliner if I can avoid it.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Worse case is I cut it and buy a new cord, but I'd prefer to try another route first

It's pretty straight forward to drop the headliner. You don't have to remove it but just remove the bolts towards the front and pry it down. I had to do this not too long ago when my Sirius xm antenna was leaking.

Where are the bolts located?

I'd leave the cord. It could prove handy for future use! Buying a replacement would save a potential mess.

That is a urethane. It is hard as hell. Either cut the urethane where it's caught or cut the cord. I new razor will cut into urethane easily.

There are a few videos on dropping the headliner but the screws that hold the sun visor up as well as the "oh sh*t" handle on the side you want to drop. Gave me easy access to the headliner

You're right; that epoxy is tough stuff! Wow. I tried to cut it with a sharp knife but it didn't budge. That being said, I didn't pull down the headliner as I am selling the truck later today. I will just leave it there and buy a new cord.
