had a go w/ a dakota 4.7

I've had more street race stories than i can remember and i'm only 17, this 1 was close. I was coming home from work when this guy in a black shortbed dakota pulls up next to me and keeps inching forward and looks over, trying to get my attention. my truck draws alot of attention.... i wasn't realy paying attention and he guns it, so i punch it about a second or 2 after him. he obviously had a good jump on me but i reeled him in like a fish. where i passed him goin about 45-50 till i had about 2 lengths at 75 or so. the next red he was really ready to go, and so was i, i reved it to about 1500 and smoked the tires still gettin a good launch. and i was gone from there.

 

overall i was impressed with the dodge. the little 4.7 held up decent against my 5.0. even though he has a huge weight advantage on me.

Just wondering, are you sure it was a 4.7? they out run the 5.9 R/T and well, I believe the 5.9 R/T would out run a 305, your truck is very heavy.

Rodger that the 4.7 2wd Dakota's are quick. Like real d**n quick. Like one ate me and my buddy in his 01 Z71 quick. And a reg cab 5.3 4.10 Z is fast out of the hole. But if so then kick a$$ kill.
