I saw those. The ones on boost have the built in directional like the oem ones but would still be much better than a crack in the glass I suppose. ? any other options out there?

Recently another guy at work drove my tractor and forgot to unhook the air lines when he dropped a trailer and pulled out from under it which broke the back glass. When the glass repair guy came they sent him with the incorrect precut window and he told me that his mentor taught him how to cut glass which, from what he was telling me as I watched, is somewhat of a lost art. Is there something about these mirrors (defrost, signals, the mounting) that they can’t just be cut? I can think of various ways to have one get unexpectedly broken without damaging the mirror itself and it baffles me that a $30ish replacement isn’t available.

You can buy individual glass pieces from Boost Auto. Upper and Lower. About $35-$35. There is also a heat element on these and a signal in some as well to consider.

My first thought was to go to a glass shop and have a mirror cut to fit.  However, as pgamboa points out you will lose your defrost option if you have it with your particular truck.  The usefulness of this option depends on where you live and there is the possibility you would never notice that your truck lost this feature.

The heating element is just double sided tape to the glass and looks like it could just be swaped to the new mirror glass. I contacted boost but they only offer glass with a directional built in to the glass. I cant figure out why they have this mirror but no glass options? Very dissapointed in 1a auto

@1ATony, can you assist here? Do you have replacement glass options?

Spoke to Adam from boost. They aren't the same backing but he's gonna send me 2 for the price of one and I'm gonna try and put boost glass on 1a auto mirrors

1a auto after telling me they dont carry the glass twice then told me they are just out of stock and they are on back order. 2-3 weeks. I'm on that wait list but I hope they weren't just saying that to get me off the phone :/ lol

So I managed to peel the boost glass with heating element intact off of they backing plastic and place it onto the 1a auto backing. Shaped right in place and looks like a million bucks. That will hold me over till 1a auto gets the new glass in so it matches

We are in process of stocking replacement glass for these mirrors. Since they are fairly new, it may take a bit to receive new stock from the manufacturer. We will get you taken care of. I will get together with our product team on Monday for you.

Best Regards,

Tony

So, no follow up calls or anything from A1Auto? Just bought a set of these.

Kinda of worries me.

Unanswered calls may be annoying, but I wouldn't be worried.   It will work out.   I haven't broken a mirror for many, many year so I am wondering if anyone has tried a local glass shop for a mirror replacement?  You may have to transfer a heating element from the broken one but I'm pretty sure cutting a new mirror isn't a big job for the professionals.
