I have an Alpine Restyle dash coming for my 2017 Sierra this week and wanted to see if anyone else is using one? It gives you a 10" screen, navigation, and countless touch screen options but they are very pricy so I haven't seen much feedback on them. Curious if anyone has first hand feedback on these and how they are utilizing the extensive functions

They still on sale for $1200? I thought about one myself but haven’t given any more real consideration. Good luck it looks awesome

I've got one installed. I like it other than the kind of slowness it has. I also did the motion bypass on it because to change settings you have to lock parking brake. I had the 4" screen before so its a major upgrade.image.thumb.png.52e58e3bc40416fea5903a47cd918365.png

seems good. I mostly use google maps though so its just there

You know what annoys me the most about this head unit. How annoying it is to stuff a million cables behind it for one. I haven't gotten the camera controller yet but thats gonna be a pain too.

That and the only way to see outside temp is to open up the AC screen. I'd rather it be next to the time.

Yes I only pulled the trigger when they went down to $1299 plus I think another $70 for the Sat Radio integration module and I'm also buying the antenna adaptor so I can use the OEM Sat antenna.

I have looked at this on and off for a while for my 15, but in the end I concluded it wasn't much of an upgrade from what I have for the money.  There were too many extra modules to buy to make everything in the truck work, I have been down that road of "stuffing" and don't intend to go down it again lol.  They look sick though! Post some pics of the install if you pull the trigger.

Don't forget your fuzzy tape. They want you to wrap some of the cords yourself when you install it. Also heres all the things that need to be removed to install it.

Glove boxes, left vent and assorted trim, the cd player, actual head unit at the top, screen, driver knee panel (where the hood latch is), driver side fuse panel, a pillar trims on both sides, and the big trim piece that holds the front speaker grilles and sensor.

After that its just a matter of pulling and cabling. Although I can't get my remote to work for the dvd player (never use it) and I can't figure out how the usb thing works. I'll probably give it another look at some point in the near future though.

Looks great!

what did you use for a motion bypass?

I just got mine installed and also cant get the radio to recognize the xm tuner which is properly installed. When you go to

access it that area of the touch screen is greyed out!

Any help or info much appreciated...

Thats what I used for the motion bypass. I'm not sure on the xm tuner as I got my unit used off of craigslist. Got a screaming deal on it though. No money for all the modules.

Ok thanks! I habe the pac tr7 which is the same idea. Where did you tie this into the restyle unit wiring and did the wire colors match up for the brake wires?

I tied into the main harness plug that connects to the actual head unit. Big blocky one. The wire colors did match up I think. I can't quite remember exactly though.
