driveshaft vibration after tune above limiter with 3.73 gear

Anyone having vibration issues with the driveshaft above 95mph with 3.73 gears.

They're known to actually twist like a pretzel at those speeds

On top of insurance costs, im sure that there's other reasons that they limit these truck to 98 mph.  Might need a race one, or something that'll hold more power if you're going to upgrade.

Mine did tear in half..........guess going to have to go with a 2 piece

I'm currently running A tuned 6.2 that put down 392 at the wheels and I want long tubes and other upgrades but the driveshaft is the weak link I guess

So the obvious question is..... why ask us about a vibration issue when you've already shredded a shaft?

Have a shaft custom built and balanced for what your asking it to do.

1.would like to hear similar situations but no one is running a 373 gear it seems and no one seems to be upgrading driveshafts.

I have the limiter on my 2016 set to the same speed as my 2014 (112mph) and mine runs just fine over a 100mph with no issues, but I am also somewhat driving it normal up to the 100mph point and not WOT to get there.

 

you need to go the custom driveshaft route. Several members on here have done that over the years.

what gear are you running

if you have a 3.42 or a 3.08 I think the trucks are capable of over 100 or so due to the driveshaft spinning less rpm's and not reaching critical speed. Your right though this problem wont be fixed unless I go with a 2pc.Found a setup rated for up to 800 h.p for 700.00
