Intermentent speaker functionality

I’m having issues with my speakers and I’ve been told it may be the amp. I’ve seen photos and threads saying it’s under the center console but those don’t match what I have. I have the center console that flips up into a seat with additional storage underneath. My rear speakers don’t work at all and the front ones rarely do. Sometimes the pass side door does and less frequently both front speakers will work. Usually, it’s just the highs playing by the windshield. I have the 2007 new body 1500 Z71 LT.

Could be the speaker wire harness is loose at the head unit?

Check the speakers...they are notorious for failing. The front door speakers in my 2010 had both failed by 2013

If the speakers were going out wouldn’t they still sound clear when they do work on occasion?

Mine sounded fine...when they worked. And there was no rhyme nor reason as to when they would and wouldn't work. Driver front door speaker started going out first...driving down the interstate and it would work one minute and cut out the next. Passenger front door was next. Picked up 2 sets of Kicker replacement speakers and went ahead and changed fronts and rears. No issues at all since changing them and, as an added bonus, the sound quality improved a bit.
