Suggestions for Tying Down Tabletop?

I'm trying to figure out how to tie down a 4 * 8 ' tabletop (it's a train table top) in the back of my Silverado 2018 2500 CC standard bed.  I have cargo tie downs at the nine points in the bed, but since this is just the table top it's probably only 4" thick and the tie downs site well above it. It's 8' long so the tailgate will be open.

If I lay it flat in the bed and tighten ratchet traps I think the tension will raise the table off the truck bed.  Any ideas on how to secure this so it doesn't go flying?

Lay something on it, then:

One strap between the front tie downs;

One between the rear tiedowns;

Then a third that starts at the right rear tiedown, across the top, wrap it over the end, then return it to the left rear tie down (strap now under the table top), the strap will look like a vee...this will put tension on the table top and keep it from sliding out of the bed.

Should be better than good at that point...

Or a couple boards/blocks under it.

The bottom tie downs in the four corners will then be usable.

Or couple 2x6's or 8's in the slots in the bed, but over the table top.

Again, this is to increase the height so you can use the 4 corner loops to pull down on the load.
