Best place to power winch from

Hey guys, been trying to search around with no luck... I'm installing a 12V winch on my 2017 and I am looking for the right place to power it from.  Its installed just at the rear of my cab on a sled deck, want to winch them up rather than drive my neighbours nuts...

 

I can't figure out the right place to run my 12v wires to, I need a pretty solid amperage draw, but i can't seem to find much in the way of people talking about where to power it from, are there any fuses to an AUX power source somewhere for this sort of accessory, etc ?

You're going to be hooking directly to the battery with a winch.

Defintaly the battery, and use beefy gauge cables to run to that battery or you will trip the breaker constantly in the winch. I had a 12v mounted on my deck trailer, stock alligator clip wires were like a cheap Chinese 16 guage aluminum, I could pull my ice shack about 1 foot and it would cook the breaker. I ran a set of 8 gauge copper wires and now have a 100% duty cycle pulling my shed. Do not try to tie in to your tail lights lol.
