diyer2
Put a set of these on the truck. Stock size: 265/65/18. Starfire: 275/65/18. Removed Cooper ATP, 275/65/18. Tread remaining after 21 k miles was more than half gone from new. Were getting noisy, especially at 50 mph. The ATP's were noisy and rough riding. To be expected from this design IMO. Good traction in fresh snow, not so great on packed snow. Normal? We live in the mountains of Colorado. Drive dirt roads, two lane rural state roads and highway. The Starfire is quieter, smoother riding. Bumps and road defects are felt less. My guess would be a softer sidewall. Much better highway tire. Quiet, good handling. Snow and mud traction are good. I wanted a quieter, better riding tire and the Starfires came through. May have sacrificed a little traction switching from an all terrain tire to a mud and snow rated tire. Haven't towed with them but I don't see a problem.
