2017 Rear Spring Racket

I got hung up on for my first call to GM this morning. Second one the lady said, "I'll make sure you get called back." I said how are you going to make sure? You're going to note a file, send an email...?? That's not making sure of anything. Don't say you're going to make sure, say you're going to send a message.

After 6 days without a call back after she said she'd call me back in 30  minutes, I let the dealership know. The dealership emailed me within 3 hours and says he was able to get in touch with Mary (who had vanished for the past 6 days from me) and it was now time for me to come in and pick out a new truck. He said the deal was MSRP for MSRP.... MINUS MILEAGE... I said, oh no no no no.. I went back to my BBB case and updated it, as well as took a screen shot of their confirmation that the offer was MSRP for MSRP WITHOUT any usage or mileage modification. That IS the Georgia Lemon Law. So either GM is trying to pull a fast one and make me pay $3000 for something that, by law, is supposed to be free, or Mary just doesn't know what she's talking about. Yesterday morning, the day after I updated the BBB case, 7 days after the commitment for a call back in 30 minutes, while I am sitting in my daughter's Chorus program, chaperoning 6th graders, GM rings me. While there are many situations I would have left for this call, this wasn't one of them. Two missed calls from them as well as the BBB. When I get a moment at lunch I call GM back. First call was a little over 15 minutes on my call timer. 5 minutes of here and there transfers followed by 10 minutes of hold that was ended by getting hung up on. I called back and said don't bother with Mary. Get me Mary's boss. I don't want Mary to call me back. Get her boss. 

Today I let the dealership know more of what was going on. Made sure they had seen the BBB feedback. And also made sure they would tell Mary not to call me, that I'd be waiting on a call from her boss. 

I thought this stuff was over once I accepted the offer from GM to replace my truck under GA Lemon Law.

What a friggin nightmare! They're about as fast as government ... when it isn't YOUR bill that's due.

I'm finally done. I got the Silverado replaced with a Traverse. I paid an extra $800 for the Traverse as the MSRP was $800 more than the Silverado was. The Silverado had 32,000 miles on it once it finally went down. So far so good and my wife loves the Traverse. Call me crazy... but I traded her Enclave for a 2018 Tacoma.

GM is losing customers left and right. I had my whole family buying GM products in the late 80's into the 90's ... and then the '00's & '10's came, along with all the problems, and a severe decline in customer service.

 

 My dad just picked up a '19 Ram 1500 - he traded in his '16 Ram for it. Brother is driving a '16 Ram, as are 3 of my best friends. Each one of them has a similar story - GM tried to sweep their problem under the rug, and milk them of as much cash as possible through the whole process. None of them will ever buy a GM product again.

 

Toyota and Ram would be the only 2 trucks I'd buy brand new. I won't call you crazy - I'd call you SMART.

I almost got a Ram Eco Diesel. I'm not totally loving the Tacoma.... I may end up trading it for a Ram before too long. I would want to wait for a 2019 but the 2018s will be getting deeply discounted pretty soon, I'm sure.
