Steering Wheel Movement

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2015 Sierra SLE and I've noticed a few times when pulling out of my drive and turning first thing in the morning, I feel a "movement" in my steering wheel.  It's almost like it makes a palpaple click at a certain point or it moves toward me a tiny fraction of an inch.  It's hard to replicate.  At first I thought it was in my head, but it's happened frequently enough that I'm aware of it.

Anyone familiar with the same issue?

Is the telescope locked down? There are a couple of lever that allow for tilt and telescope. Make sure both are all the way locked down. It seems like Tele is under the column. It's been a while since I used either function in my truck.

The tilt level is locked down.  I don't have the telescoping feature on mine.  I suppose I'll mention it to the dealership next oil change.

If you have the time, I'd recommend going to your dealer now and asking them to have a look. Your concern will be on record and they can check for any potential safety issues.  I would save cosmetic items for my next service but I'd deal with mechanical and safety issues as soon as they are noticed.
