Headlights dimming while turning?

It was about -8 Celsius. Everytime I turned my steering wheel the headlights would dim? Is this a common thing or is there something else at play here? Did it with high beams too.

Does it do it while driving or just when sitting still?

Definitely when I'm sitting still. Unsure about driving I thought it did while driving too but I'm not 100% I'll check that again tomorrow.

It could just be that since the truck isn't moving turning the wheels takes a little more work because of weight and grip that it puts a little strain on the electric power steering so it pulls more power from whole system

Could it be your truck’s way of nudging you to move somewhere it wasn’t -8*C?   Like Miami maybe?

holy cow.

Sorry.   That wasn’t really helpful.   Hope someone here can give you a diagnosis.

I'm no tech but if you have electric power steering maybe it has something to do with it, i would call GM customer relations and let the company check that out.

Maybe there is a loose ground or short somewhere.

I would probably have the battery checked as a first step, most auto parts will test it for free. According to most reports the average battery life is 4 to 6 years so it would not be uncommon to see earlier than 4 year failures on a percentage of batteries. There have been reports (on this forum) about bad power distribution connections and cables but I would try to eliminate the easy and more common issues first. A nice AGM battery and you might be all set for 8 to 10 years?
