Too Much Oil Pressure?

Recommended Posts

My '98 is running a 5.7 Vortec and the winter months here have me concerned.  My oil pressure when I start the engine is over 70 PSI.  Is say about 75.  I dont know how accurate the gauge is but im fairly sure its not far away.  Once its been running for about 15 minutes and warmed up it goes back to 30-40.  Im just worried that during that warm up time the engine isnt getting enough oil because the pressure to push it to the required places is too high.  Regular oil changes with 5W-30.
