How does one get started creating custom diablo tunes?

Is there special software/equipment involved in creating custom tunes?

What engine and transmission do you have? What Diablo tuner do you have?  I have an 18 with a 6.2 and an 8 speed, and I think the only option is to install the "diablo tune".  Then I can change for tire height and I think gear ratio and get rid of top speed governor.  I have an i3 8240.

you can modify timing, WOT fueling, tire size, afm/dod, gear ratio, tire size, speed limiter, rev limiter, etc with the programmer itself.. there's a listing on diablo's site of what some of the adjustable parameters are.

 

you can not create "custom tunes" externally to import into the tool..  that requires diablosport's CMR tuning software, which is only available to dealers/tune shops...
