Brother said that he was at work for only 30 min and a customer asked for help putside and he said he heard a faint drone of a loud diesel straighpipe exhuast and he said he tunrned to were he parked and it was gone. Also he said one person "saw the truck dive off" but who knows. And now that I think about it, the leaking transfercase might be from it being towed off or pulled onto a flat bed.

Kinda disheartening, but I figure most bystanders wouldn't challenge a tow truck that said they were picking it up because it 'won't start'. 

 

OTOH, there used to be some around here stolen by damaging the steering column to unlock wheel and to be able to start.  

 

Not sure if that is still possible on the new ones.

Yea who knows. The colum was damaged but that may be from them tearing apart the dash to get the 30 dollar stereo it had. But even then my money is on that they actually started it up and just beat the hell out of it. Who knows. Now theres nothing left to fo but try and fix the problems it now has and move on.
