i went with this one, had same problem with my antenna so went minim length shorter to clear I don't listen to fm a lot but have not had a problem  with reception.

Exactly! I did this on my last truck like 10 years ago. I kind of remember having to use a cutt off wheel on it. it was like a hard metal of some sort.
