Goodyear Wranger MTR Tire size ? Help!

I am in desperate need of new tires, and unfortunatly no one in my area carries Goodyear Wrangler MTR tires. The problem is I would like to get hte biggest tires I can for my stock ride height Silverado LS 1500 2WD. The tires i have now are near bald and look terrible. I am basically asking:

Will 285 75R 16 size tires fit on my truck? I am pretty sure they will but I am just curious if anyone has any experience before I drop 700$ on tires I can't test first.

If they won't fit i am know 265 75 16 will, but if the 285' will fit i'd much prefer those!

Thanks in advance!!

I'm not certain, but I seriously doubt you could get 285s under the front of a 2wd.

I put the 265s on my 2wd, and they fill up the wheel well very well. Look just right.

Also, call around your local shops, and tell them that you want the MTR's. They will get them for you....Almost any shop will.

Nitto lists only 2 local dealers for Nitto tires in the OKC area, and I called around to places like Big-O, and Firestone outlets. I just asked how much the Nitto Terra Grapplers were, and they gave me a quote.

Those places can get just about any tire they want. It just takes a day or so.

Just remember that most of them also have a price match gurantee. So call half a dozen places, and bounce their prices off of each other to get the best deal. I got my 285s for about 250 less than originally quoted by doing this for half a day.

Or just go to Tire rack. They seem to be pretty reasonable with their prices, and shipping.
