I just changed the cabin air filter in my 2016 Suburban.  Before the filter change, there was the normal noise when the A/C system was on.  Now, there is a HORRIBLE humming sound coming from the vehicle.  It is so loud, that you can hear it outside of the vehicle.  I popped the hood and you can hear it near the passenger side firewall, sounds like a sucking sound.  I read on here where debris can fall into the system when you change the filter, so I checked that.  Nothing.  The noise began instantly after changing the cabin air filter.  What have I done to my Suburban?  It makes it miserable to drive now.

You dropped an acorn or some other crap into the blower motor. You can't believe how often this happens.

I tried my best to check that, even shoved a ShopVac hose down the opening and no luck, still noisy as ever.

Okay.  I'll try that in the morning.  At work right now.  Thank you!

Ok, gave it a shot again this morning.  Removed the filter and turned the system on, hum is even louder with the filter removed.  Filter reinserted and the noise is still present.  Tried everything I could try to remove any debris that may have fallen in there and nothing comes out and cannot see anything in there.  Noise is driving me insane.  I actually want to set this thing on fire now.  J/K of course, but almost to that point.

UGH. I took it to the dealership the other day and they claim to have vacuumed it out and the noise is still present.  How do I fix this?  Please help me before I go insane.

I had the exact same problem.  Does the sound change when you use different doors?  Floor, defrost etc?  Did you use a Fram filter?  I did, same problem your'e having.  I pulled the filter 6 times, no kidding.  The final time I made sure all air and blower was off and the air flow on the filter was correct.  When I put it back in I went through all the doors with the blower on low and it quit.  I don't know why.  It quit though.  Sorry about the problem.

Hi Ghettosled, I’m literally in the same boat. 2016 suburban changed the air filter, which had a mouse nest, and now I have the worst sound coming from what seems like the compressor. Did you find a solution?
