Bammer25 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Searched and couldnt find much. What is the little can on the tail pipe down stream from the muffler just over the rear axle? I was going to switch out my muffler and trying to figure out what I want to delete (cat, resonator, muffler, etc). I know some leave the piping and tailpipe after the muffler stock, which was my plan. But what is this thing?
Criscone Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Replace factory muffler with a muffler of your choice, remove resonator (near tail pipe). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Darksky Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Or just remove the muffler, replacing it with a piece of straight pipe and leave the resonator alone. Simple, inexpensive and works fine. - give it a shot, the cost is right, if you don’t like the outcome, you’re still at square one.
Bammer25 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 I guess I was confused. So the resonator is the piece by the tail pipe? I thought it was up on the other side of the muffler beside the third cat. That piece of flex material

Depending on the year of your truck it should be muffler then flapper valve and resonator which is the thing above the rear axle.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
