Interesting video by TFL truck guys testing the Trail Boss off road.

Finally, Shots of the 20" wheels here and there, but they are a Bridgestone AT tire and more of an on/ off road tread.

Apparently no factory Goodyear Duratrac Option with the 20" wheels...…

I watched this morning. The black Trail Boss looked great even though it wasn't the featured truck and in the periphery of the red one they were driving. I guess we'll hear their impressions on the 13th. Looks like they'll be towing with the 5.3 and 6.2, too.

Why have the Raptor there also?

No comparison as to off road ability between it and the Silverado.

That was probably TFL with the Raptor. 

 

They are very clear they can't talk about impressions until August 13th too.  The Trailboss is a couple thousand dollar offroae package.  The Raptor costs like 10k more.  This wasn't intended to compete with it.  

 

I wish Chevy wouldn't say the 18" wheels have 33s - they're not, not even if you round.

The test drive in this video at a "fast" pace through the mud looks promising.

This trail boss looks more off road capable than the current K2 model.

I am liking the new upper A arm front suspension change.

Why no Goodyear Duratrac tire option from the factory for the 20" wheel instead of the less aggressive Bridgestone in this video?

Did I hear correctly? 2 5.3L options for the Trail Boss?  A normal full time V8 and an optional Dynamic Skip fire/AFM ?

Is this going to be the case with the other trim levels as well?

Many on these forums are disabling AFM.

Custom Trail Boss gets the L82 AFM 5.3.  L82 replaces L83, but its basically the same exact engine, but gets the new water pump/front accessory setup, new oil pan and removal of the vacuum pump all of which are the same changes for the new L84 DFM motor. 

 

LT Trail Boss gets the new L84 DFM engine. 

 

AFM/DFM is a feature on all engines except the 3.0 Duramax for T1 trucks.  LV3 4.3, L82 5.3 and the 2.7T4 get AFM, the L84 5.3 and L87 6.2 get DFM.

So Roman's information in the video was incorrect. I thought so.

Not surprising! LOL.

The auxiliary Vacuum Pump design was a hiccup/afterthought with our K2 designs IMO.

From what I understand if it fails, metal shavings can enter the engine. No wonder the 2019 design does not include them.
