Removing wax from flares etc

I know this has been discussed to death but for the life of me I can't find the posts with a search. How do all you guys get the excess wax off all the black parts such as flares and the bumper cover? I usually use a toothbrush but the wife caught on. I guess I left some wax residue in the bristles. I told her it would help whiten her teeth but she wasn't buyin. :smash::smash:

I've had good luck rubbing the areas with a cloth and some Wesley's Bleach White designed for cleaning tires. After that I go over the areas with Armor All.

Everyone's entitled to use whatever he wants on his truck, but I have to caution against the use of Armor All on anything (save for tires, maybe -- and even then there're much better tire dressings out there, so why bother?). Armor All is a terrible product for plastics/vinyls.

Look at the flares on a Jeep Wrangler. If the flares are dull, milky, and discolored, I guarantee the owner has used Armor All on them. The stuff is just terrible.

Whereas I can't speak to getting wax OFF of flares and plastic parts, I can say that the absolute best product I've used on my Jeep's flares, all of my weather stripping, and all of my Z71's external plastic parts (including the ground effects and roof rack) is good ol' regular lemon Pledge.

Be VERY cautious using Armor All (read: DON'T use it). :smash:

I would have to agree with Maddog. Back to black works great for this type of problem. And you’re just not limited to using it on black colored plastics either. Try it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I also hear that peanut butter works good too. I have never tried it but supposed to work from what other say.
