Mud flaps

I used my loyalty cash to put toward a set of OEM mud flaps. I really like the way they look. These mud flaps are larger that I expected and seem to be really good quality.

They use existing holes except for 2 holes I applied touch up paint to those holes. My truck rarely sees a raindrop much less a salty roads. By the way I try to live my life with “the glass half full”attitude instead of “the glass half empty” attitude. But thank you very much for trying to rain on my parade.

I've never once seen rust from mudflap holes. My previous Silverado had them on for 11 years without a hint of it.

 

I always have them dealer installed before ever pulling off the lot.

Nice! I have the weathertech flaps that I installed after I bought my truck but the OEM ones definitely have a cleaner look.

Apparently the install procedure calls for goop of some sort to be applied to the drilled holes in order to forestall any issues. You can find stories about that corner being cut. I have the flaps myself, installed before delivery. They do look nice and are functional.

Up here in ny, (salt city, heavy winter) we have thick body color-matching super adhesive tape that covers where a rust ding has begun behind mudflaps. I can take photos if you want but it does work to null the rust in its tracks if ur interested.

My 07 had rust behind the flaps where the salt and moisture collected between the flap and the paint.  I installed some Husky flaps on my truck now and they came with some PPF between the flap and paint, so time will tell.
