BCM question.

Has anyone ever replaced, or installed a different bcm without programming. This has been bugging for a long time. I know by the best programming person and pgamboa that bcm requires programming to your vin, just curios to know if some has done it and what has happened..

you will get a ton of error messages on your clusters, and a ton features will not work. what is your reasoning for putting in a bcm without any VIN programming?

if the bcm is used (already learned another vin) the vehicle probably wont start. it has been a while since i have been messing around with the bcm. basically a ton of features will not work, every time you start the truck you will get error messages for various modules.

Thank you for your response!!!

I’ve been wanting to add the Foglights functionality to my 15. It didn’t come with foglight so they are hard wired now. About a year and half I replace the whole front harness that has the wires for the foglights and front sensors. Pgamboa helped gained the front sensor function and the wires for the foglights are preset. Pgamboa and I tested the power continuity and the fog lights work only bypassing the BCM. So....... BCM need to be programmed. White auto and media is super busy and is not taking orders at the moment so just wanting to know if there’s any other way.

We do have the capability to program BCM on the bench, but unfortunately we are not offering this service, nor will we be in the future. I know you dont want to hear this considering all of the time and effort you have into what you have done already but Your best bet in my personal opinion is to go with the rigid fog leds. a customer brought his truck in to have an HMI installed and he had those fog lights installed, i was completely blown away at how bright they are. if my truck didn't have the factory fogs i would hands down go with what he had. sorry, i wish i could have been more help, but installing a bcm without any programming basically bringing in a ton of problems into your equation. also i dont even think the truck would start because the keys, and immobilizer system would have to be relearned.

You’re absolutely right.! White auto and media is capable of adding this upgrade and it has been confirmed. It’s not so much about the brightness as is more of accomplishing this mods., here’s my 15 LT with a 16-18 front conversion and now it has all the high country functions except the Foglights.. I even added the oem flip down screen and dvd.ff8806b070b874f7495b0641875ba0dc.jpg
