Storing 2018 GMC denali HD

Gonna be storing the truck in a facility that doesn't have power. I wont be able to trickle charge the dual batteries and will have to disconnect them. Will there be any problems doing so? I have always used battery tenders or batteryminders but wont be able to now.

I thought about that, but its one of those AAA storage facilities and they wont allow a solar panel hanging from/outside the garage door. I think my best bet is removing the batteries and maintaining them in my garage. I'm just worried about reconnecting them in the spring and running into electrical issues.

Got it . I would think the truck controls would default to original setting, that is only a guess. Storing your batteries in your garage is a good idea. Might want to treat your fuel if its going to be a long storage. Any chance you could go over there couple times a month and just pull  it out and let it warm up to operating temps? That  would ave you from having to pull the batteries and allow some of the fluids to circulate.

could you just remotely start the truck from your phone/app and let it run a bit every so often? thats what ive been doing when i store mine.

I think that would be a bad idea since it will be in an enclosed garage. Also, I was not planning on starting it in the winter. I want to winterize it and start it in the spring. I'm just wondering if there is any concerns with the electrical systems on these new trucks if I pull the batteries and not start it till spring?

You could just disconnect them an leave them in the truck.

Would that not trash the batteries having them in possible -20 degree temps and not trickle charging them?

If they were good batteries they would be okay.  I would assume they're good batteries as its a brand new truck. It will shorten the lifespan.  I think you would be better off leaving them in it with them connected and running the truck once a month.  You dont need to drive it anywhere.  Just let it idle and warm up.  

 

If you cant do that, then take them out and put them somewhere.  I store mine in the basement but I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't recommended.

Charged batteries do fine in cold weather.

 

Dead batteries will freeze.

      Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.

      Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?

      Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.

      Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.

      I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
