Opinions 285/70R15 Nitto Ridge Grappler with XD Rockstar -12 Offset

Recommended Posts

Newbie here. First post, but long time Chevy truck owner. My last truck was a 2004 LT LB CC 2500 Duramax. So, this 2017 1500 is a change, but really do not need that big of a truck anymore.

I ran a larger size tire/wheel set-up on that truck and have a similar question.

I am looking at getting the Nitto 285/70/R17 Ridge Grapplers on XD Rockstar wheels with a -12 offset. I did a few searches and can find some info, but was wondering if anyone is running the Ridge hybrid tires on this or a similar set-up and having any issues? The negative offset with the outer lugs on those tires make it seem that they are just that much bigger than other similar 285s and may cause some problems with rubbing.

Presently, I have stock wheels and tires with a 2" Zone leveling kit.

If this is in the wrong forum area, mods feel free to move the thread.

Thanks.

I’m running 285/60/20’s Ridge Grapplers on a leveled 18 with +1 offset. First off, your mpg’s will get hit, braking and acceleration as well. Ridge Grapplers and Toyo RT’s tend to be approximately 1/4” bigger due to having much more meat. They’ll run rougher cause they’re E rated but very much badass tires
