Hello

I have a 2018 GMC sierra 3500

Just had plow and salter installed-Before I had it installed I used my Verizon WIFI unit, after picking up the truck the wifi registers in the truck but when I go to use the apps on the truck it says no internet.

The truck shows connected to the wifi but nothing works

1. the plow installer did disconnect the battery

2. The truck is Brand new

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Do you have a data plan?  Did you set up a password for your truck WiFi?  If so has the password been entered on Cell Phone to connect to the designated truck connection.  Since the truck WiFi is basically a WiFi Hot Spot it must have a good AT&T cell signal to work.  Contact On Star for help.

I was told by OnStar that their data plans were through AT&T.  Since I have AT&T my data plan was just added to my Cell Phone Bill.  I would still contact OnStar for assistance.

It sounds like you are trying to connect your truck to your Verizon stand-alone WiFi hot spot.  Questions:

- Can any other device connect to it?
- Why do you have this device instead of just using a WiFi hot spot on your phone?

Ok so GMC replaced the radio back in Dec-Everything was working fine... then

last week I had some lights put on the truck and guess what...after disconnecting the battery the wifi is not working again

Radio says when I start its connected to my wifi and the wifi shows the connection to the truck but when I do the apps its says no internet connection

I really don't want to go back to the dealer, but is this something that will happen when the battery is disconnected? if so this is a really big flaw in the system.

Curious what the dealer did here? I disconnected my battery and now I get “no internet connectivity” as well on my radio screen.

The wifi feeding my phone works fine though.

Hello Forum!!

I realize this thread is getting a little old but I did not find any follow up when searching.

I have a 2018 Colorado and after replacing the battery I have experienced the same problem as the original poster (and previous post).

Radio shows WiFi connected but the Apps say no internet ... check WiFI ... etc ...

I was wondering what the final resolution was?? Did you guys get another radio from the dealer ... just living without it ... or what??

Thanks in advance ... (posting as a guest) ... ?

My 2017 Silverado just did this after battery replacement in regard to the radio WiFi. Ever find a solution?  Thank you

Welcome to the site.

What have you tried so far to fix it? Maybe disconnect the negative cable on your new battery for a few minutes, hook it back up and see what happens?

I am having the same issue with my 2020 Sierra 1500.  I pay monthly for the Wi-Fi from AT&T. My phone connects fine to the trucks router, but there is no internet signal once connected.  While driving, the screen displays a message requiring me to enter my password to continue online services, and when password is entered, it advises invalid password.

I have had it in to the dealer with no success.
I spoke with OnStar, who manually reset my password for me, which also did not solve the problem.  I disconnected the battery overnight, and still no success.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it is a amazing so many people have this issue but no one has a solution that works.

2017 Silverado here with new battery and same issue. I connect to hotspot but "Network difficulties are preventing this page from loading" I can connect to the Silverado hot spot and get internet access but not from the truck radio. The truck can connect to my home network bur I get the same message about page not loading.

Such a common issue should have an easy solution.

What did not work...

1. Turn radio off and open drivers door for 5 minutes. Close door and start truck

2. Press and hold the Home button and FF but at the same time for 10 seconds.

3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds then reconnect.

4. Restore factory defaults through the Settings menu on the radio.
