Replacing the CATS?   I wouldn't think running rich would have them go bad.  Not considering how many vehicles out there that are consuming oil at a high rate and the CATs seem fine, although this is what I have read and no first hand experience with.

 

On a side note, could the K&N not been serviced correctly and caused a layer of oil on the MAF and been part of the issue?  Just that seen that those that run a K&N have had issues with their UOA's, not all but most from what Terry Dyson from Dysonanalysis has told me.
