Ugh, First Accident!

Good luck getting parts if you happen to need them. I was involved in a hit and run a few weeks ago (got him on camera). Dented my front bumper. Got a call today that parts are about 3 weeks out. I guess it’s to to be expected....

I am having my front bumper and right front corner components replaced due to a deer accident. GM sent my dealership 3 bumpers right off the line. My High Country

requires the bumper to be painted and your TrailBoss should be the same. Give Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing Michigan a call. Their main parts department by the Bodyshop

which is on MLK Blvd has the other 2 bumpers as far as I know right now.

Curious, how much does GM want for a bumper? After my 16 GMC got backed in to GM wanted about $1200  for a new OE bumper.

Cost for the bumper on my insurance summary after consulting with the dealership was 670.00 without the supports. The front right hand lamp assembly was 1250.00 while the High Country Grille was 1100.00.

Welcome to the club, some guy took out my K2's painted bumper with a sail boat trailer at the gas pumps in September. Since it is drivable, insurance has basically held me off. Incident was 2 months ago to the day and I haven't even got approval yet and wait times are 1-2 months for body work here. My personal trucks are CLEAN, it hurts and pains me to drive it like this looking like a complete dummy who cant drive. My friends laugh and say its a small dent and scratch but to me, the world ended that day. My estimate from GM to replace bumper and fog light moulding (Morimoto fogs didn't get hit) was $2,612.67 CAD ($1,973.51 USD)

Total repair estimate is $3475. That includes the PPF and ceramic coating being redone, but I’ll have to wait 30 days after paint and hope I don’t get a rock chip in the mean time. I’m going to see if the body shop will spray it a little heavy in hopes it adds some durability.

List for the bumper unpainted was $600, without any brackets or plastic pieces.

Chuck,

Just throw one of these on it :

Wonder what the weight of that thing is. With the lift tires and extra weight it would probably drop the fuel efficiency to 10 mpg lol.

I hear ya. It made me sick to come out and see it. Mine was a minimal dent too but I keep my trucks spotless so it was definitely a big deal to me.

Who cares about fuel economy?

At least you would win in a head on collision with a Moose!   LOL

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
