Factory sub woofer

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a 2017 CC Z71 silverado.  I love everything so far except the stereo.  It has the Bose system but does not have the factory sub option.  Is there a way to add a factory sub?  Specifically is the wiring there with or without the sub?

I know I can add an aftermarket sub woofer but would rather just plug and play a factory one if possible.

Maybe I’m missing something. I thought all Bose systems had a factory subwoofer mounted under the center console. Do you have a bench seat up front?

That must be the case. Unless he hasn't got Bose or they somehow didn't install the sub. Or, maybe I'm missing something too?

Where would you put the sub? It's designed for the console.

If you have the beach seat no sub. If you have the full center console you have the sub. There is no wiring there with full console the wiring comes from the dash. Not from under the pass seat.

You really have no sub with a bench seat? I have a bose system and a bench seat but it definitley shakes the truck like theres a sub

The door speakers put out decent base as well that’s where it’s coming from.

In stock form the sub in the console does virtually nothing and you feel all your bass from the door speakers.  So being you have a bench adding an aftermarket sub in the back somewhere would be a decent upgrade.  Adding the stock one you would  barely notice any difference

That’s all I did I have the console sub and it lacked that base. I added the kicker sub under the rear pass seat. Gives the system a nice sound. I left the factory sub hooked up.

I might have to put one under the rear seat. This whole time i thought i had one. Thing would sound really great with a decent setup

I added the kicker sub stage made for the 14 to 18 silverados

How was the sound? Did it make a big difference?

I also put the little kicker add on in the back of my truck. My truck has the console sub which does nothing like I said haha. Now it shakes the rearview mirror pretty good and definitely has some bass not just from the two door speakers with the kicker.  It's not a bad upgrade but fairly pricey for what you are getting.  Would be nice to have separate sub control but the kicker is an easy install so it's all how picky you are.
