search don't work so well . So I am sorry if this has been discussed  ...

Has anyone installed this Plug & Play unit ?   Phoenix Android Radio 12" touchscreen

I did message them to ask a few questions about our factory options in our trucks &

They claim we keep all our factory options = Navigation , Sirius xm , On Star , WiFi , AA ,

Apple carplay & any other factory options we have in our trucks .

Here is a link to place that sells it ==

$999.99 New & $639.99 for open box , That's about the price for other options to just get Android auto & Apple carplay .

Do not get this unit. I have no experience with it directly but a handful of reasons why:

  • The tech is based off a cheap consumer android tablet. Generally these tablets have degrading performance over time much more severely than the OEM tech. You won't notice this the first few weeks but you will most surely notice after a few months.
  • You really don't want all your controls on a screen. It may seem nice because you can use the extra space but it's going to be annoying over time when you try and adjust the A/C and can't get it right because its a touch screen. This will be more painful once the tablet starts to slow down.
  • Boot time is horrendous on these things from what I've read.
  • The volume and fan are switched, which is annoying.

Also these units do not have SIM cards. So you have to hotspot to get data. Boooo. Would rather add a SIM to my plan for $5 more a month.

Yeah but it ain’t worth no $30+ a month!!!!
I can add a phone on my plan and share data for just $5 more.

Or just hit the hot spot widget on my main screen of my phone.  That costs me nothing every month.

Im wondering if the bose sound quality is compromised... it would be good to read up on this before you install it or buy one. Look for the reviews I seldomly get anything under 4 and 1/2 Stars. How long it's been out? What the upgrade policies are? And Company service support?

I've messaged them several times and it always took a week or more for them to respond.

Well in my book that's already a big negative

Bose and sound quality should not be in the same sentence

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
