Electrical Help

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra extended cab Z71 with the 5.3L V8.  The only button on the driver side door that actually works correctly is the driver side window button.  The button for the passenger side window that is located on the driver side door will put the passenger side window down but not up.  All other buttons on the driver side door do nothing.  All buttons on the passenger side door appear to work correctly.  The buttons on each extended cab door for the small electric windows do not work either.  They key fob will unlock and lock the passenger door but not the driver door, as I manually have to do that with the key.  I've checked all the fuses I can think of.  Does anyone have suggestions on what I can check or replace next?  Thanks in advance for your help!

- Wiring harness that jumps from the pillar to the door probably contains loose/broken wires
- lots of rain, coffee, etc ended up in the switches and corrupted the switch

You'll have to:
- pull the switches, disconnect the harness from each and jumper the harness to see if the windows etc work correctly. If yes, then new switches.
- if not, then you will need too remove door panel and trace wires back to see where they are corrupted.

It's a known issue that those switches are susceptible to water ingress/corrosion.  I was approached by Bosch back around 2008-2009 to design a seal around the switch module because they were starting to see problems in the field with existing trucks.  They never went with my design, not sure if GM even did anything about it.

Probably the easiest to replace the driver's door switch and see what that does.  It's not cheap, but for me it would be worth it to possibly avoid annoying wire traces.

Another option would be to try to disassemble and clean/polish the contacts, to see if that makes a difference.

I had that happen in a car about 15 years ago.  Took it apart and all the wires where they went from the door to the body were in various stages of disarray.  Some were perfect, some had cracked insulation and others were broken.  Redid them all.  No answer for the power door lock.  May be the same thing.
