The "Catch Can" Explained - By Elite Engineering

Hello everyone, I've been reading up on these CC and I'm wondering if I need one for my application. I have a 2015 5.3 that I put an Edelbrock Eforce supercharger on. Would I still want to use or need a CC?

What other manufacturers besides Elite make a good CC? I know I carry no credability here and not looking to start any wars or bashing. Elite seems to be the one of choice and appears to have good customer service, but that's not the case for me. I've called 3 times, left 2 messages and emailed both addresses. Only to get a single email saying "I'll look into it and get back to you". That was 3 weeks ago. So I'm good on passing them up. Again...I'm not slamming, bashing or whatever. I'm just trying to get some answers and take care of my pickup.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

I'm partial to the Moroso CC. See my Topic

Anybody care to comment on wether or not I need one with the supercharger?

You do need one but I'm not sure exactly which style....likely the dual outlet can but check with customer service. Either the Elite Engineering E2X or the RX Catch Cans are my recommendations. They're essentially the same can and the best on the market based on user feedback.

They absolutely sound like the best on here. I'm just not interested them after the customer service issues I've had. Must just be my luck.

I have not dealt with Elite Engineering so I can't comment on them, but I've had great customer service experience with RX. If you email them with your engine and vehicle specifications, they will tell you exactly what you need. Others around here seem to have had good luck with Elite though and recommend their products.

For whatever reason I thought they were the same company and those were 2 different models of cans. Thank you very much, I will try them.

I have the Elite E2 can. I just used one outlet, but that was all I needed. Works great. I never had any issues, so can't speak about poor customer service. I got what I ordered, and in a timely manner. I did ask some questions before ordering to confirm the proper bracket I needed and got quick response. I would highly recommend them. I have no experience with RX, so can't diss them or praise them. I am sure they are a fine outfit as well.

We would like another opportunity to earn your business. But would need to know a little more to be real specific, but all forced induction engines need a proper crankcase evacuation and oil separation system for engine longevity and proper ring seal and stability.

100% normal. My "basic" Elite CC hisses. I have to "TRY" to hear it at idle with the hood down. It is noticeable with the hood up with the truck running though..................but how often does that happen???

It's catching the oily vapors that would/could potentially cause deposits on the intake valves!!

After running with it for a while it's just the vaccume/ hose causing the sounds which is normal. The catch can works perfect and even with less then a thousand mile give or take I see the results. I'm happy with it and it works.

Has anyone installed the catch can with factory warranty left on their truck, then took their vehicle in for service with it installed and the service dept noticed the catch can installed?

If so did GM or Chevy service depts. try to state the factory warranty is now void or what was the comments made?

Good question. I can tell you we have had Catch Cans on all our company trucks for the past 15+ years. And every year each one has gone into our GM dealership for some type of warranty work, and not once did a dealer question the Catch Can. If you have a good dealer with good mechanics, they understand the benefits of a good catch can.

Mine does not care either about a catch can.....Probably don't care about a tune either. It's obvious if vehicle is taking care of or not usually.........
