Just when you thought it was safe to drive a 6 speed

No way GM does a recall unless and until they had a rock solid "fix".  Since there seem to be several issues, I don't see how they could do this.

And to think many members here complain about their GM K2 six speeds being Clunky.

I will take Clunky over having my head go thru the windshield any day!!!

Why?  Maybe computer control, too damn many gears, not following the KISS principle?? Take your pick.

Ever hear of a TH 350/400, C4/C6 or Torqueflite 727 doing this? Why was that again? :lurk:

I wish I could just put a TH400 in my new truck ..... get rid of all the computer controlled crap

And I'm sure you wouldn't complain one bit about the truck being slower and getting significantly less fuel mileage, right?

I have two non GM 6 speed automatics, no problems. Didn’t have a problem with my 14GMC either.

Hardly the point. Can you think of a reason that any number of gears you like could not be controlled by the means the TH400 was?

Exactly.....but in this day and age heaven forbid that something is not controlled by some kind of electronics

Point is... what kills these transmissons is all the computer controlled garbage

Haha, I doubt it would be much slower,  if at all... very easy to put a gear vendors OD on a t-400 and have a 100% bulletproof mechanically operated 6 speed.
