So I need some help with the dimensions of what the box should be for a Kicker Solobaric S10L7. It needs 1 cu. ft. of airspace and appx. 6.5 in. for the mounting depth. The box will be a sealed box. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

If you're building a basic square box and using something like 1/2" MDF board, I would make a box that is 13" around which gives you 1 cu ft. of volume inside the box. If the box need to be flat and long (depending where the box will be located) the dimensions would change to fit where box will be placed. I may be able to help you more if I knew where you're thinking about placing the box and the dimension of that space. Also, the box doesn't exactly have to be 1 cu.ft., there are filler material that can be used to trick the speaker to think the box is bigger than it actually is. I kinda rambled on and on but hope this helps you out little bit.

Thanks Poonis. I have some Polyfil which will trick the sub into thinking it is in a bigger box than it should be. I guess for measuring I just have to go out to my truck and measure. I'm just lazy.....but there is no way in he!! that I am going to pay $125 to get a box made. I paid almost that much for the sub. Hopefully I can build the box right the first time and not have to build a second one. Thanks for the help again!

For one, dont use 1/2" MDF.

You should use 3/4" at MINIMUM for an L7.

The 13" Square is a great idea, along with a sealed box, assuming you have LOTS of power available from your amp to run this sub.

Obviously a sealed box requires more power than ported.

If you want the highest efficiency, I would go ported.

Kickers website offers a downloadable PDF files that lists every box available for you to build for that sub (including a sound quality oriented ported box that will make the most of that sub).

Hope this helps.

 See my thread on my "new stuff", I got both of those 15" L7's and a 1200 kicker amp for a 300$ acoustic guitar. Now that's a deal  But besides the cockyness, 125$ is really good for an L7
