Geez for a while I was using Flow Chevrolet for Gm parts however recently

I went to order a tail light lens and a fog lamp for a Buddie's 2001 Yukon

and GMPartsdirect.com wanted $23 and change for ship! WTFIUWT?

I actually ordered through Puritan Pontiac GMC in Hyannis who are crooks, ended up about the same, Boston stock. Anyone have a better outlet for ordering AC/Delco spark plugs and filters without having to worry about that "special lubricant"?

This was my complaint a couple of threads back. They have at times really good prices at GM Direct or Partszone, but the shipping kills you on the small stuff. On some of the higher dollar items that you are saving around 30 or 40% then it is a great deal. A lot of the things I have been needing though I actually had to buy at the dealer because of shipping it only cost me a dollar or two more than online companies. A real shame when you see that price that you can get it on line compared to what the dealers are ripping us on but that shipping is a real killer.

There was a topic about this in the vendors section a while back. GM Parts Direct wanted $95 to ship an instrument cluster. Several people were complaining about it in that topic. But after a few days the topic disappeared from the forum.

The best way I have for getting a good price is I get a buddy that has a muffler shop to order the parts from the local GM dealer. He gets the jobber price and if it comes on a regular shipment there is no shipping charge.

There was a topic about this in the vendors section a while back. GM Parts Direct wanted $95 to ship an instrument cluster. Several people were complaining about it in that topic. But after a few days the topic disappeared from the forum.

The biggest complaint there was how they calculate shipping at Flow.

Prices at www.partszoneonline.com and Flow ended up pretty much the same when it was all said and done.

I will agree the smaller stuff is cheaper at your local GM Dealer.

Here is something very interesting....

I live in AZ, matter of fact Van Chevy is close by. The dealers here all have the same prices as each other with the exception of one dealer who usually is higher.

The prices of the dealers here are all higher than what you can get parts on line at GM Parts Direct. (This is before shipping prices - depending on the items and the price)

I did however go and checked out Van Chevy's website. The parts there are actually cheaper than if you called them on the phone and asked them the price here locally. So what gives??

I'm wondering if I call them and they give me a price if I can argue with them and get the web pricing.

I did however check a couple of items between Van and GM Parts Direct and GM Parts Direct was still cheaper and that was including the shiping over Van Chevy not including shipping. It appears that Vans prices are better on the web versus my local area.
