GM factory 2" lift question

Just curious if anyone knows why GM is including the front axle shafts in their $1200 "performance" lift? No other lift currently on the market include any shafts. Also I always thought Rancho was one of the cheapest lift/shock brands, am I wrong?

You're most definitely not wrong. They are not anything to get excited about. I have the Z71 package on my RST and the Ranchos on there are even twin-tubes. At least the Trail Boss and the lift kit package has monotube Ranchos.

I can't answer the shaft question but I think Rancho is crap.  I've had several trucks with off-road packages that come with the Ranchos and every single time I replace them.  In fact, I have a set of Ranchos off my '18 Silverado 2500 in my garage now.

I looked at getting this kit on my new Sierra but I think for the price a Stage 1 Icon kit is way better.  It's a few hundred bucks more with install but I think the quality is WAY better.  I'll probably go with the Stage 2 which comes with the UCAs.

I posted similar question. You might be interested in responses:

My conclusion was that upgrading suspension with Icon stage 2 was best solution to get the lift. Still not sure if mod CV shafts are needed but I would get them seperately and add to icons if they are. Hope other more knowledgeable in forum give additional opinions on CV shafts.
