Correct Torsion key bolt position

Recommended Posts

I have a 2019 2500 Crew Cab (6.6) but figured this probably applies to all 2500 chassis. Are the torsion bolts supposed to rest in the center of the key? Pic attached to describe it best.

Had a pro comp 6 inch lift kit installed and  to know if this bolt is seated I properly.

if anyone can help pls, thanks!

That almost looks like an aftermarket set of keys there, look how slim it is in the cross section. The bolt is supposed to sit in that indent.

Thanks! Was able to snap a pic of the driver side.

Yep, as you suspected, that bolt is not in the correct location. It should be in that little indention in the center of the key. What does your other side look like?

Appreciate it, just posted a pic of the driver side. I was able to set it properly by lifting the passenger tire up, tapping the metal piece the bolt goes thru, and moving the bolt out 1 turn, then back in.

the shop who handled the instal didn’t seem to agree it was out of place.

Glad you were able to fix it. And, you might want to find a new shop, haha.  :smash:
