haha, yeah I have the 1" Motofab, but figured it would be temporary until I see what they officially come out with for a level kit for the TB.  I am sure Ready lift will release theirs soon as well.

Whole different leveling setup than the standard lower key that many have tried using on the AT4 and Trail Boss.

Which was my point in another thread where a member was having issues.

There was a reason after all that this style of leveling kit took so long to be introduced.

Proper research and development is the key to engineering success

I’m curious to know what the difference is with the AT4 Kit vs Trailboss Kit. Anyone have an idea?

yep, I agree, although I did put a 1" motofab (motofab recommended lift) as a temporary fix for bigger tires until the proper lift came out.  definitely a lot different lift than the standard lower strut spacer.

Problem was with the guys who were installing the 2" lift key on their Trail Bosses /AT4s

This Rough Country kit is definitely not that!  LOL

What exactly is the RC kit? How does it differ from the puck style?

I'm curious as well!

Just read the instructions...  Looks like RC is using a spacer in the strut spring and another under the lower mounts.  so essentially 1" up top and 1" below....   I don't see the significance in this over 1.5 / 2" spacer below the strut...

Plenty of installs with the standard level kits being used since the AT4 came out and yet to see any poor reports.  If it turns out later there are issues w upper ball joint angles, then newer upper control arms can be added.  ( I did this on my 2013 2500 a few years ago. )

So far it seems that the standard levels kits work,...  But no feedback and I suspect we wont get any...

My dealership has a couple of AT4s on the lot that are leveled.  I called and asked about a dealer installed front level and voiding my warranty.  The dealer wants $875 to install the level / alignment, and says it will remain under full factory warranty.  The part number they game me is Pro Comp 63235.  Pro Comp's website says this part is not for the AT4.  Any thoughts?  I have not raised this to my dealership yet, as I am working for a couple more weeks before I will be home to install anyway.

If you are mechanically inclined and have a jack stand and floor jack you can do this yourself and save $$... or buy the parts and have a local shop do it...for less than dealer... its an 1 to 1.5 hrs of work then alignment...

Most of the level kits being installed are " not for the AT4" but they work as is shown by the number of members doing installs..

I'd be curious the dealers response to the pro comp not being AT4 compatible... but as mentioned they work...

In order to void a warranty it has to be proved that it caused a failure...    I'm running the readylift 2" level kit and 3" blocks rear...

Good luck

I installed Motofab's 2" level myself on my 2017.  I am very mechanically inclined and had no issues during the install.  Loud popping noises started while turning after about 1,000 miles.  I also had both lower control arms come loose (bolts not even hand tight) twice.  The control arm bolts were not touched during the install.  The dealership and two local accessory shops chased the popping noise for 30,000+ miles until I traded the truck. They continued to tell me everything was correct, and they could not locate the source of the noise.

I am paying the dealership if I level my AT4, and it will be under factory warranty this time.

With that being said, I have personally put eyes on three AT4s currently on the lot with dealer installed level kits.  I guess this is the option for me, but my main question was about the kit they are using not being rated for the AT4 by the manufacturer.  I think you have cleared it up for me.

Here is my research:

1). Dealer installed Pro Comp 63235 for $875.  Dealer says they will stand by factory warranty if they do the work, but Pro Comp says this kit is not rated for the AT4.

2). Local accessory shop installed Rough Country Sku: 1318 for $350.  If the dealer were to void warranty because of this mod, RC's website fine print says the owner is responsible for having a dealership fix the truck, and then contacting Rough Country to prove the malfunction was caused by the lift kit.  This raises caution and sounds like the beginning of a "blame-game" or "run-around" to me.

My end goal is to level the front and go with 295/65/20 (35.1") or 295/60/20 (33.9") Nitto Ridge Grapplers, but my concerns are warranty and sacrificing ride quality.

Any thoughts?

    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
