Catch can question.

Little skimpy on the room under the hood on this truck, curious on some mounting ideas. I was looking at pulling off the black trim up by the windshield just so MAYBE I can get a nut on the back of a bolt or something which would put the can just behind the engine oil fill-up, she's tight. I'll assume the less length hose the better...

Oh wow just saw the new engine bay. Looks like a diesel. I am not  fan. but I have owned so many truck I just got use to seeing thing one way. quick guess up front where there is more room. can be mounted about anywhere high or low. And it works the other way the longer the line the better. The biggest racers have there valve covers vented to the trunk mounted breather.

Got er installed, found a place to strap it. It actually turned out better than I could of hoped for. Only concern I have now is a hissing sound that sounds like it's coming from inside the can itself, air blowing by the steel wool that's inside I'm assuming. Must be part of normal operation? Just strange how I'd be able to hear it. Seems like connections are good and felt around everything with no change in the hissing sound so whatever I guess.

Interested in a pic as well. Just traded my 15 in for a 19 and have an e2 that I pulled off.

I ended up installing the add w1 catch can to the cowl flange. Removed one of the plastic rivets just off center on the driver's side and bolted the bracket to the top side of it. I did have to cut the supplied bracket shorter. I was considering mounting it to the battery hold down bracket but the ac lines where causing clearance issues.

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on here or some time now but here is a pic of the install. The can isn't mounted with the bracket, I just zip tied it to the wiring harness and fed the hoses behind the coolant reservoir.  She sits solid and I just cut and replace the zip ties when emptying the can. Very convenient and happy with it.

How is access for emptying the can? Just gonna cut the zip tie and put a new one on each time? Probably not the worst considering the layout. Still haven't made the time to try and install mine yet.

The are supposedly making a new kit (bracket) for the 19+ trucks die in a few weeks.

Does anyone have a link on the model catch can and where to buy?

Does installing one of these affect your warranty at all?

Depends on the dealer and the reason for the warranty visit. Tried to take my 15 in for an oil leak on the timing chain cover and they denied it because if the can. Others have mentioned no problems.

Yea, pretty much cut and replace zip ties. I'd actually rather this than a bracket, lots of play when the ties are off and solid when attached. No access issues. I also use 2 zip ties and cross-angle them for stability. The can sits on a metal angled piece so I put a sticky backed rubber piece on it so metal isn't rubbing together. It's almost as if that little space was made for the can ha.
