Hey guys/gals just picked up my 19 RST Z71

So far I love it, the last truck I drove prior to this new model was my fathers 03 z71. This truck drives so damn smooth, quiet and enjoyable. Much different than a modified car I had prior. So far all that will be done in the next week is matching front window tint, 5'' nerf bars and ceramic coating on the paint. I also picked up a set of LED bulbs for the reverse lights. Any input on things you guys recommend? Debating on a leveling kit at some point as well

This is a huge step up for me...I had/have a 09 Scion emoji23.png.

Truthfully I wanted blue, but Bob Johnson didn't have any RSTs in blue that also had the z71. I also had to get the safety package, which I wouldn't have normally paid for as I dont think it's worth the $700. This will be my first black auto, so it should be fun keeping her clean.

I love black cars/trucks. This one will be a pain just due to the size. Foam Cannon cleaning makes it a lot easier to handle. I'm partially thankful my truck didn't come with the safety package, other cars ive been in that have had those would annoy me over time but I cant speak on the new trucks. I went  Tuesday to work a deal, they ended up dealer trading 2 black rst while we were both trying to close the deal. So the two we got were the last two on the lot we could find with the full center console we wanted. Overall I love the truck thus far. My fiancé drove it over the weekend and felt the same. It gets tinted today up at Lindsey Window.

I'm with you with the safety package too, but I've been in rental cars with them and those blind spot indicators have saved my butt a few times. I would have rather had the upgraded speakers. Priorities for a father of 3 huh? haha.

haha, agreed. I mean I went with the crew cab with the idea of keeping this for some time and not trying to squeeze car seats in a double cab, Which was the biggest complaint people had when it came to the double. Soooo yeah the safety package would have been nice if I continued that thought haha. BUT the bose is nice...I didn't even know it came with it because the original truck I picked out didn't have it. Only things done so far were 5' nerf bars and LED reverse lights.

i have 3 boys. 6, 4 and 2. They actually fit ok in the double cab, but we also have a dog who needs a place to lay and the kids are just getting bigger every day. Unfortunately you dont really get any additional width, so more than 2 car seats will always be tough. But at least they have room to stretch their legs instead of kicking the back of my seat!

I upgraded the bump stops on the read end for my RST z71. It helps with sag and the back end being soft/bouncy when I am towing my camper.

haha agreed.... also luckily I'm not very tall so my back seat is roomy for passengers.

Went at got the truck tinted did 15% up front. Going back weds to do the rears since factory doesn’t provide any UV protections for heat and sun. Debating on going 20% over the back or 35% which would create 5% and 15% respectively.

To the OP, we have the same truck, at least externally. Love it

I love mine. I’ll try and grab some pics tonight after work with the running boards and tint. I’m very happy with how it is right now. It will stay pretty much like this until I need tires lol then I’ll get wheels.

Mine may have different wheels. I put on steps and mud guards. and the gm sub. Next want to darken the tint all the way around. Will try to get a pick.

I went to Lindsey window Tint in Rochester. I did 15% up front and I’m going back tomorrow to put 35% on the rear so the back will be around 10%

I’m only doing the rear because stock is tinted but not uv protected.
