2015 Sierra tailgate lock

What’s the secret to getting the tailgate lock to unlock. I got it unstuck once but this time it won’t clean out and release. I have a tri-golf cover on the bed so can’t get at the back of the latch assembly

Have you tried Graphite spray? Its a dry lubricant used for locks. Good stuff.

Not familiar with the cover, how does it fit?

No lock on it from the outside?

 

Might have to get a locksmith involved.

Are you talking about the actual lock or just the tailgate latch getting stuck?

 

2015's only came with a manual lock.  So just put your key in and turn ...

 

If that doesn't work then somebody installed an aftermarket power lock.  The most reputable brand is Pop & Lock so maybe you could contact them for Tech Support:
