I had one on me when I went into the store, my daily carry gun.

They stole my backup carry gun that was in a holster sticking up a little in the console, so when you opened the lid, it stuck out. and they left my "truck" gun that was sitting right next to it, but not sticking up.

I'm assuming they popped the lid up, saw one sticking up and grabbed it and ran after shuffling through the console contents for about 2 seconds.

So you have 3 guns with you at all times? That seems like too many to be responsible for. Def need a dedicated safe if youre doing that.

Wouldn't carrying/storing 2 or 3 mags be ideal vs 3 guns?

I carry one on me at all time once I step out my home, unless I go to a 30.06/30.07 only time I leave it in my truck but yeah I needa LOCK’R Down safe but don’t waste it on a jump seat safe,  I rather buy the center console safe much more room so I’m waiting til I get a center console then ordering one. I really don’t leave my  gun alone for to long anywhere I go...

Funny how this thread pops up right when I need something better for my truck.  Galco holster works great for me stuck into the cup holder in the door but not readily accessible when I need it.  I'm currently borrowing a '19 Traverse while my truck is in the shop and have it in the center console cup holder... so nice, but I can't do this with my truck as I have a jump seat.

New gun requires new changes and better preparedness.  I've been looking at the AlienGear truck holsters but don't really want straps running around my seats.  Best bet is probably going to be a steering column mount of some sort.  Not interested in any of those magnetic holders, I'd prefer to keep this work of art off of that.  I haven't poked through the threads shared at the beginning yet but will be interested in some ideas that others use for having it close by and ready when not feeling the mood to be gut poked or butt poked with appendix/IWB holsters.

I just mounted a magnet under the steering column.  It is easy to get the gun when I need it and it can't be seen unless you know where to look.

I gotta jump seat for now but I plan on getting

center console and leather seats, definitely looks like a better fit for a truck

I only have 1 on me most of the time. My personal truck would sometimes have 2 in it, but out of all my driving, only say 25% of it is in that truck.

Mainly so if I was in my truck, lets say leaving work and I didnt have my daily carry (it was at home in the safe) and I needed to run some errands, I could grab my backup carry (compact 9mm) from the console and be good.

I always keep a full size in the console as a "truck" gun.

So in the event, both my carry guns were at home in the safe, I atleast had one in my truck.

I don't like any of the console safes out there today, with all there is no fast access into the console. Which is why I built my own that basically locks the console down if the key is not in the ignition. As long as the key is in the ignition, console opens like normal with no other locks or dials or combos to fool with after opening the lid.

Same here. Once my pants go on I am carrying even in the house. I only have one with me. I don't really have a back up in vehicle. If I ever find myself in a situation that I have blown through 3 mags and still need more then there is some major crap going down at that point. I rarely ever go into a gun free building but if I do I have a fireproof security box secured under the rear seat.

I used the holster that came with mine and used velcro to stick it to the bottom of the jumpseat. It works great and I've had no issues with it so far, I can reach and draw in a hurry with no problems. I carry on my persons at all times but when I'm driving, I like to carry it there versus on me, more for comfort since I appendix carry.
