2018 Mudflaps

Hey all,

I just bought a 2018 2500HD Midnight Edition and wouldn’t you know it, I already have two rock chips on the thing. I think these tires are flinging up some rocks as I drive. With the truck only having 19,000 miles on it, I’m not in a position to change out the tires. Has anyone added mud flaps for this issue to the front wheel wells?

Well you posted in the 1500 section might want to repost in the HD section.

But anyway if you drive on gravel regularly I wouldn’t bother with the factory ones. I did them on my 015 1/2 ton (new of the lot) and they aren’t long enough to prevent chips all the way down the side. I even have nerf bars and still have several chips on both sides (I drive 3 miles gravel every time I go somewhere/comeback).

If you got AT tires that throw rocks (like my Cooper AT3s assuming you got the factory Duras) you’re also going to end up with chips on the fender/box side wheel well lips so might want to consider some kind of fender flare/paint protection film or at least flaps that work with flares if you decide to do them in the future. Really wish GM would have used the Sierra wheel well trim on the Silverados or somebody would make one similar since I despise every flare currently on the market...

I HIGHLY recommend these. We have them on every truck in our family. They stick out a little beyond you fender for more rock throw protection. They are drilless too. THey have them for your 2500.
