Wiring diagram for aftermarket led lights

Hey Guys,

I have two questions;

I recently installed a new rack and it has two led pod lights. I would like to wire them to my reverse lights AND to my dome light switch. My plan is to find the wire under the dash for the reverse lights and then also wire it directly to the existing dome light switch.

Can anyone send me a diagram for which light is my reverse light under the dash?

Maybe even a quick sketch of how to wire it to the relay and what size fuse I should use?

My second question is,

The rack also has eight marker lights on it.

I would like to wire these to my running lights, but I would also like to run them to a separate switch so that I can turn them off if they get to distracting. (someone told me he had them and hated them because its all he could see out of his mirrors at night.)

Any thoughts on this?

I plan to wire them the same as the above pod lights.

Thanks in advance!

Danny V.

The relays are easy. But you will want 2 relays. The signal or stock wire is the trigger if it is positive then ground the other coil wire. Then 30 is common so out to led then reverse and some on 87 and 87a.
Same on running lights.

This is

my understanding of how to wire a switch with the relay.

Does this look correct?

are you saying I would need to do the same thing with a different relay if I wanted to wire it to my reverse lights as well?

30 and 87 are reversed in your diagram but would still function

Normally, relays use power to enable them, so your switch should be connected to power, not ground (so when you flip the switch, 12V goes to 86, then pin 87 gets 12V from pin 30 [they are connected together]).

30 is always output to item being turned on. The ground and power do not matter for power or ground it only energize the coil. 87 and 87a are what ever is being connected to post 30 then powered up or normaly closed. So you can set it to always work with reverse and if reverse is not used but the dome is you need to do two relays or diode isolate the triggers.
